Financial Aid for School Tuition To further its mission, Providence Christian Academy has established a financial aid program which enables students whose families desire a Christian education and are willing to make a personal sacrifice but lack sufficient resources to fully cover the cost of tuition to attend PCA. Effective April 1, 2011, you will have access to the application through a link on our web site, www.ProvCA.org. Principles and Procedures 1. Financial aid is need-based and all families of students in Terrific 3s through 6th grade are encouraged to apply. Assistance will apply to tuition only. Aid does not apply to registration fees, book/supply fees, before & after-school care charges, lunches, field trips, etc. 2. PCA operates its financial aid program on principles of confidentiality, concern for the individual, good stewardship of resources, fiscal responsibility, and opportunities to advance its mission. 3. Aid typically ranges from 5%-50% of tuition with a maximum of 50%, unless there are severe, exceptional circumstances. PCA encourages parents to also seek assistance from other sources, including extended family, friends, churches, and foundations. . 4. No distinction is made in the admission of students based on financial aid. 5. Eligibility for aid is based on demonstrated financial need, prior involvement with the school, student’ s school record, available space, current account status, number of children at PCA, responses to application questions, and unusual circumstances. 6. Students and/or families that do not adhere to school policies and procedures may not qualify for continuation of financial aid. 7. Teachers, other instructors, and support staff are not involved in the process of determining eligibility. 8. Financial aid is not automatically renewable. Families need to reapply each year. 9. Submitting an application for financial aid does not hold your child’s place in the class. The place in class is secured when you submit your application to PCA with the registration fee. You are encouraged to secure your spot as soon as possible because class sizes are limited. 10. To insure confidentiality and impartiality, FAST, an outside agency, is used to process parents’ financial information, which will include a review of their most recent federal tax return. FAST charges you a nominal fee for this service, payable by credit card to them at the time of the application. If you do not possess a credit card, you may pay the school office, which will issue you a voucher to be used for the application. 11. Final determination of who receives assistance is made based on the application reports from the outside agency. You will be notified in writing of the decision. 12. Financial aid is credited to a family account over the term of their payment plan. Once tuition assistance has been awarded, failure to maintain a current account by making on time payments jeopardizes continued assistance and may cause the entire monthly tuition to become payable. We accept students regardless of race, religion, color, or national or ethnic origin. |
